Amanda Moran commented on TRAFODION-1762:
-----------------------------------------
Work around (changing the hostname on each node):
Must have sudo or root access for these changes
Edit /etc/hosts with new hostnames (on all nodes, and include all nodes in /etc/hosts)
10.0.0.0 node1.trafodion.com node1
10.0.0.1 node2.trafodion.com node2
Edit /etc.sysconfig/network with new hostname on all nodes with ITS hostname
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=node1.trafodion.com
Note: If you want 'hostname' to return a FQDN then /etc/sysconfig/network MUST have the FQDN. If you want 'hostname' to return a short name then list that as HOSTNAME.
reboot each node to pick up the changes.

> The monitor only allows for node names that are shorter than 32 characters. On AWS, FQDN's can be much longer than that.
