Subversion 1.0 for Redhat 6.1?

Has anybody had any luck compiling Subversion 1.0 for Redhat 6.1?  (Or 
any 6.x version of RH for that matter will do.)  Including the svnserve 
component, but don't need the webdav stuff.

I've had a go but with little success.

I know I should be on a later version, but that decision is out of my 
hands for the time being...
