Hi All,
it seems the demo is blocked to revision trunk.748419
This means that the last update was done on friday february 27th
Is there some problem?

Thank you,

Ciao Bruno,

I have updated the www.ofbiz.it site and run ant svninfo and now the
actual OFBiz revision in use is visible on the footer.

Did you try:
svn update
ant svninfo

from the ofbiz home folder ?

Adam,
this is not a bug.
We did this in order to make the svninfo work properly.
You can find it in the ML.

I didn't think you were doing anything wrong at all - only was looking to find out exactly how that worked again - which looks good at this point. Thanks everyone - we're in business again.

I'm not doing anything wrong, I hope. I haven't modified any
global-type files that could cause anything. I hope you just
mean that you think my recent changes should be changing that
file.

Actually, I found the bug.

744841 makes the run and run-pos target no longer depend on build.

Please be careful guys when you check stuff in.

But why are doogie's recent changes not updating the number then? Will it be when I remove this information from the ecommerce footer? If it's automagic, then I'm certainly ok with it.

Re: OFBiz demo update

Posted by Bruno Busco <br...@gmail.com>.
Thank you,
it seems now it works.
BTW the revision index that you add in ecommerce footer is different
from the one that is included OOTB in the backoffice application
footer.

This is why in the backoffice we put in the footer the revision of the
last commit to the OFBiz folder in the SVN repository.
While the one that you show in the ecommerce footer is the revision of
the last commit in the whole apache repository.

I would suggest to remove it and leave as is is OOTB.

Thank you,
Bruno

Re: OFBiz demo update

Posted by Jacques Le Roux <ja...@les7arts.com>.
Yes you are right Bruno (and I was in my 1st approach) : www.ofbiz.fr does not need any amendements, it's already OK.
I remember now having told them that already (hence they use the right logo : "powered by")
So only Marco needs to clean things a bit and to replace logos

Thanks

Jacques

Re: OFBiz demo update

Posted by Bruno Busco <br...@gmail.com>.
Jacques,
I only meant that:
- on www.ofbiz.there seems to be a deployed ofbiz you can reach here:
https://www.ofbiz.it/catalog/control/main
(only missing the "ant svninfo" to be sure of what release it is running)
- on www.ofbiz.fr I cannot reach any running demo
(https://www.ofbiz.fr/catalog/control/main does not work)

Bruno,

Do you mean those instances are running on a Contegix server (I don't think so) ?
Else, you can acces www.ofbiz.fr or www.ofbiz.it directly from passing through OFBiz official site, isn'it ? Hence Ted's
"recommendations" (actually it's legal stuff) below apply

About this,

We should warn Marco that if the machine he uses a machine is not officially in Apache infrastructure, he should change at least the
logo and use his own (powered by is OK). This is true for all the https://www.ofbiz.it site included OFBiz demos.

Here is an extract of a message Ted Husted <hu...@apache.org> sent to PMC

* All ASF assets must be maintained on equipment controlled by the foundation.
* The foundation considers "Apache ${Product}" and the product's logo
to be marks of the foundation.
* Only ASF assets may use its marks.
* Third party sites that use domain names similar to ASF product names
must post a prominent disclaimer that states the site is not
associated with the Apache Software Foundation.
* In order to prevent confusion, menu links on ASF websites to
third-party assets should not be comingled with links to ASF assets.

So it think it's our duty, as PMC members, to warm Marco about that.

You may find an example here http://www.ofbiz.fr/ which uses powered by Logo (I asked for) . It's maintained by the Noegia
community. BTW I will ask them to update. This is also another concern with these copies : as they are not automatically updated,
most of the time they are outdated :(. I think we should better have a multi-languages site, on the official ASF machine, which
would
be updated when we update the English version...

Re: OFBiz demo update

Posted by Bruno Busco <br...@gmail.com>.
Rob,
the revision string in ecommerce footer is not present OOTB so I
cannot see how it is done.
In any case the actual demo deploy seems to be corrupted for at least:
1) the strange "MyPortalInformation:" that appears in the browser
title accessing any page in the backoffice.
2) selecting the bluelight theme the following error appears:
"FreeMarker file not found at location:
component://common/webcommon/includes/helplink.ft"

These are not present in a fresh checkout and in
https://www.ofbiz.it/catalog/control/main

Thank you,

Bruno,
if you look at https://demo.hotwaxmedia.com/catalog/control/main you
see trunk ver 748419 which is the last changed revision number

however when you look at http://demo.hotwaxmedia.com/ecommerce/ you
see trunk ver 749567 which is the current revision number

Hi Tim,

Looks like there is an update problem. On the alternate dermo server (the machine I'm currently working on and that I will shut off

Thanks
