Anyone have java beans and servlets working in user directories?

Hello all,

I'm using tomcat 5.5.7 and have configured userconfig in server.xml to look in user's 
public_html subdir for jsps etc. Jsp files work in user directories but java beans and 
servlets do not.

Does anyone have tomcat working to beans and servlets also work in user's 
public_html subdirectories?
If so I would appreciate some help.
