Can we do any BSF3 releases before passing the TCK?
Does anyone know if we're allowed to do a milestone or beta release of BSF
v3 which includes the javax.script classes before it passes the JSR-223 TCK?
Searching the email archives about this it wasn't clear if we may do a
release long as we have a clear disclaimer saying we don't comply with the
spec, or if we must not release anything which includes a javax.script.
class until we pass the TCK. Anyone know either way?

There's a discussion about this over on incubator general which confirms we
are ok to do this:

For the time being I'm going to assume we can do a release as long as we
follow the guidelines outlined by Geir. I'll ask over on legal-discuss to
see if anyone else has comments on this.

OK :) .. what's the true status of releasing code that implements JCP
standards?
Sanjiva.

My understanding is that if we include javax.* stuff then we have to pass
the TCK before we release. This was the reason that we separated JCP API
support from the core in Axis2.

+1; I think we can safely say that .. after all we'll have javax
namespaced code in there so its kinda obvious.
Sanjiva.

Well, from a *technical* point of view it should be at least a
*compliant* implementation.
Wouldn't it be enough to declare that BSF3 was developed according to
the JSR-223 specs, but has not yet been tested via the xxx TCK for
official compatibility?

I've just noticed this reply from Geir isn't on the bsf-dev mail archive
even though it was copied to the bsf-dev list, so i'll fwd it here now.
Must have been a bit confusing for those trying to understand the thread :)
I guess its another thing being held up by the dev list moderators.
