DB Tsai commented on SPARK-24417:
---------------------------------

Since JDK 11 is LTS, should we skip 9 and 10? If no one is against it, I'll change the Jira description.

> This is an umbrella JIRA for Apache Spark to support Java 9+
> As Java 8 is going away soon, Java 11 will be LTS and GA this Sep, and many companies are testing Java 9 or Java 10 to prepare for Java 11, i's best to start the traumatic process of supporting newer version of Java in Apache Spark as a background activity.
> The subtasks are what have to be done to support Java 9+.
