       Velocity v1.0 beta 1 Released

The Velocity project is pleased to announce the release of Version 1.0
beta 1 of the Velocity template engine.

Velocity is a powerful template engine written in Java and released as
open source software under the Apache Software License.

Designed to be used with any software written in Java, Velocity is a
rich template facility based upon a simple and complete template
language  which allows easy access to application-provided data.  

Because Velocity's design strictly enforces the Model-View-Controller
(MVC) design pattern, it is very well suited for use in Java-based web
development projects, as it enforces the separation of the presentation
layer from the supporting business-logic, data sources, and control
code.
