IRC channel for developers
Hi guys,
I am wondering if the conversations at the IRC channel (for
developers) are being logged somewhere that I can access?
If it is not being logged, would you please give me an idea on 1) When
you started using IRC (for developers), 2) What is the main purpose of
this channel 3) On average, what percent of developers' communication
occurs over this channel.

I'm afraid that the site on which the data were recorded is off now.
I suggest you get connected on IRC for a few days, and you will see
which kind of convo we have. Very boring, indeed ...

Actually, the content of IRC is still interesting to me (since it
seems to show coordination of task among members, although among 2
members at a time). You say you don't have "anymore" logging set up,
which makes me think it was recorded at one point. Is that the case?
You think I can access whatever was recorded before?

sadly, we don't have anymore logging set up for IRC. And I must say
that generally speaking, those conversation are not very interesting
from your point of view.
The point about IRC is just to discuss very precise things wich does
not worth being shared with the community through the mailing lits,
like "you have committed this code, it breaks the build, can you fix
it", or stuff like that which have very short lives. We prefer using
the ML for questions which can be interesting to the community. This
is the point : when a convo seems to be interesting on IRC, it's
copied/pasted on the ML. IRC convo can also be very personnal, like
when we have to organize travels to a conference.
