Daniel Gruno commented on INFRA-9599:
-------------------------------------

This is, unfortunately, a low priority task for us at the moment (far back in a rather large queue). We'll most likely review this again in November. Stay tuned.

> The AsterixDB project would like to make use of gitpubsub. Now, we've got
> http://www.apache.org/dev/gitpubsub.html
> which explains the basic workings of the service. However, some questions are remaining:
> 1.) Looking at the output of
> curl -i http://gitpubsub-wip.apache.org:2069/json/
> I understand that the gitpubsub hook is not a simple script, but rather a
> permanently running service that waits for events.
> Is there a suggested environment, or server, which might host our hook?
> 2.) If I understand the system correctly, then the following is supposed to happen:
> a) The Hook detects a change in the source tree.
> b) The hook checks out, or updates, a local copy of the source tree, and
> builds the site.
> c) The hook commits the new site , and pushes it to the ASF Git
> repository.
> Is that right? If so: What credentials is the hook supposed to use for
> pulling?
> 3.) As Hooks are likely to be quite similar, the best start would likely be to reuse some existing material. Can you provide any pointers?
> Thanks,
> Jochen
