[jira] Created: (HADOOP-2058) Allow adding additional datanodes to MiniDFSCluster

Allow adding additional datanodes to MiniDFSCluster
---------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HADOOP-2058
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-2058
             Project: Hadoop
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: test
            Reporter: Hairong Kuang
            Assignee: Hairong Kuang
             Fix For: 0.16.0

Currently MiniDFSCluster allows first starting namenode and then datanodes. It would be nice that it also allows additional datanodes to a running MiniDFSCluster.

Hairong Kuang updated HADOOP-2058:
----------------------------------

    Attachment: dfsCluster.patch

Change the semantic of startDatanodes so that it adds new datanodes to a cluster instead of starting up a new set of datanodes. I checked all the use of this method in src/test and feel that the change will not cause any problem.
