[users@httpd] Removing / Uninstalling Apache 1.3

Hi all,

Pure habit, I configured Apache 1.3.26 from sources
with --prefix=/usr/local. After installing I realised the /usr/local/apache
dir I was expecting wasn't there and I remembered what I'd done.

However, my problem is compounded by Apache seemingly having no uninstall
option. Short of strangeling 'find' in to locating new files and trawling
through them, is there no way of performing a simple removal of the target
files?

Argh.

Regards,

Hi James,

install AGAIN with checkinstall from http://checkinstall.izto.org/
and then deinstall. Checkinstall can create Slackware and Debian
packages as well as RPMs.

I like checkinstall very much with my Slackware system. No more chaos
with installations from source!

Best regards,
Axel Siebenwirth
