Possibility to customize the handling of an XML element (marshall ing/unmarshalling)

Hi,

Will it be possible in the future to customize the handling of an XML
element, in order to have marshalling/unmarshalling between the element and
a specific provided Java class ?
If so, in what timeframe ?
