Launching Felix as a server service on linux?

What is the best method of launching felix as a server-side service on
linux? Is there a wrapper application that can be called from an init
script that would handle properly starting / stopping or cleaning up
an improperly shutdown instance of felix?

FWIW, Apache ServiceMix Kernel will be moved as a subproject of Felix
and renamed Apache Karaf.

have a look at Apache ServiceMix Kernel, it comes with native OS
integration: "ServiceMix Kernel can be integrated into your own Operating
System as a service so that the lifecycle will be bound to your Operating
System."

I've used the Java Service Wrapper before.

Hi Chad,

There is no standard wrapper application available. But you can create a
launcher. refer to this:
http://felix.apache.org/site/launching-and-embedding-apache-felix.html . You
can have a init script invoke this launcher if needed with appropriate
parameters..
