schema validation

Hi
I am new to using xml parsers. i downloaded
xerces-j-1_4_4 binary.

got questions:
1. How do I write a program in java that validates
an xml personal.xml against personal.xsd ?

2. What is the difference between personal.xml
and personal-schema.xml.

3. How do I run the samples. In the samples
directory, when I do make I get:
Makefile:8: ../src/Makefile.incl: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `../src/Makefile.incl'.  Stop.        

which perhaps requires the xerces src. Why then is this
shipped with the bin dist? am confused :)


4. What is xerces-j-2 and xerces-1_4_4 ?
