Hi,
We are still unable to fix this problem with ambari-agent restart.
We use this node as gateway node so we are halted to refresh client configurations with “Host Role in invalid state” .

Thanks,
varun

> At times hosts move to Invalid state and restart of components throw "Host role in invalid state".
> One way to fix this issue is to ssh into the hosts and run ambari-agent restart
> http://hortonworks.com/community/forums/topic/host-role-in-invalid-state/
> Ambari web interface being single point to manage cluster must provide option to restart ambari-agent. It looses its purpose if one has to manually ssh into the hosts.
