restrict acces

Hi

How could I restrict access to all resource (servlets, html files etc)of a
particular directory, If I want limit only to servlets resource is easy,
I´ve only to check if session is activate and valid, but how can do that to
static files like html files.

So, I want that all access to a particular directory pass throw a specific
servlet and that servlets check the correct access if all ok then show the
resource if not redirect to a login page, this is easy for servlet only but
what happen with html files, gif files etc of that directory?
