[jira] [Created] (BEAM-1160) Disabling Read transform validation
cause empty file patterns to unexpected succeed
Scott Wegner created BEAM-1160:
----------------------------------
Summary: Disabling Read transform validation cause empty file patterns to unexpected succeed
Key: BEAM-1160
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-1160
Project: Beam
Issue Type: Bug
Components: sdk-java-core
Reporter: Scott Wegner
Assignee: Scott Wegner
Typically, input file patterns are validated during Pipeline construction, but standard Read transforms include an option to disable validation. This is generally useful but can lead to cases where a Pipeline executes successfully with empty inputs.
We should fail execution on empty file-based inputs even when validation is disabled.
