[OT] Check your IQ!!!

It'll take you just a bit to get through. See how you do! I've never
done such an exam before - scored a 129. Is that good for these things,
or did I just prove myself to be a nincompoop? They gave me the title
of "Precision Processor", so I guess I can't be all that bad ...

LOL, I had to buy the personalised report for $14.95 in order to find out
why I got less and perhaps back up my case :-).
The results are split up into four sections:
Mathematical Intelligence, Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Linguistic
Intelligence and Logical Intelligence
My results were as follows:
Mathematical Intelligence: 90-100% ( :-D )
Visual-Spatial Intelligence: 70-80%
Linguistic Intelligence: 50-60% (as I guessed :-) )
Logical Intelligence: 80-90%
I suppose as a developer that´s all I need :-P.

You must've got the one right that had the changing pattern. I was
clueless on that. What did it represent? ... a matrix or something? I
... never ... really ... messed with that stuff extensively.

I agree with you and it´s amazing how nervous I got before I clicked on the
"calculate" button. After all, it could have been, and maybe *is*, a
complete embarassment :-) !
I defnitely had problems with some of the phrases, but I have an excuse for
that :-). After my A-levels in the UK (at 18), I moved to Germany and have
worked there ever since (for 8 years now :-) ), so I´m not aware of all the
english expressions.
Ok, got my excuse out of the way :-P. Now let´s see if others get a similar
result !

It can't be bogus -- the guys that put it together have PhDs!!!!!!
Yes, I am being sarcastic. One specific experience I recall from
college ... goes something like this:
I was taking a boolean algebra class. The professor just got his PhD
before he started teaching (had been there since one or two semesters
before, I think). We're sitting there in class - trying to learn
something - and he poses a question which would require knowledge none
of us had (he had a very confused idea of what the prerequisites for the
class were, I think). I, not being scared of looking the fool, burst
out and say, "How about you tell us? You're the one with the PhD. I
don't even have a BS. I may be full of it, but I don't have one." Of
course, the entire class just about died; his response was "PhDs are a
'dime a dozen' - anyone can get a PhD". I'm here to tell you he was
living proof of it. I was *so* disappointed in that class. I started
out trying to learn, but, after his telling us that correct things were
incorrect (he even counted an answer wrong on a test I took -- it was
*right* according to everything I knew; was the same answer as the book
had for it [ I know, I know - the book was actually right this time
though - honest! ]) and incorrect things were correct, I quickly adopted
everyone elses approach of "make it through the class". I think he
could have just looked at one paper in the class and graded us all ...
not saying anything more!

part of the phrases before and had to just reason them. Then there was
the one about the alient interpretations ...
My wife took it and got the *exact* same score (man was I scared she'd
beat me! I'd never hear the end of it!). All in all it was an
interesting experience though ;-) That's why I forwarded it. I'm not
competing :-) I fully expect someone out there will completely flog us
both!
