[jira] [Commented] (COUCHDB-1749) Add an optional HTTP compression layer to CouchDB

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-1749?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15230394#comment-15230394 ]

Katie Egervari commented on COUCHDB-1749:
-----------------------------------------

I would also love to have such a feature. My databases need to be sent to PouchDB, and currently the requests take 14 minutes to send everything from couchdb to pouchdb. If we could gzip the results, I'm sure we could cut that time in half at least. This feature would be an amazing boon for us.

> It would be really cool if you could do the compression during doc update (or view
> creation or something) so that it can be served directly next time.
