LinkSubmit problem in contrib:Table

About a month ago I had a problem in that I had to remove the column
header sorting html out of the table.  It turned out that it was because
that LinkSubmit could not take an image as that causes the form rewind
to fail.

 

In
contrib/src/java/org/apache/tapestry/contrib/table/components/inserted/S
impleTableColumnFormComponent.html I changed

From:

which caused a stale link exception when the sort link was clicked.  But
when I did

ie moving the image out of the linksubmit (linkColumn is a LinkSubmit
component), its fine.  So a while back I searched JIRA

and found http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TAPESTRY-434 which seemed
like my problem but with an If component instead of an image.

I just want to know if this is the same issue.  If not I can enter this
into JIRA. Also any idea when this issue might be fixed.  I confirmed
with beta 6 that

this problem is still present (JIRA still lists it as unresolved).
