Presentation

Hi All,

Thanks for the welcome :)

I work as senior programmer at Indra (http://www.indracompany.com/en) for
an R&D&I project using Hadoop and HBase. That led us to Gora and to try to
fix some bugs. We expect to use Pig, so further steps surely will be
implementing a Gora-Pig Connector (if no other implements it). The leaders
of the project I work on were enthusiastic about the idea of submitting
patches to Gora: we assure next versions will incorporate that patches and,
since the project I work on has public funds, it is something much positive
for the project justification. I started looking Hadoop about four months
ago and went looking Gora two months ago. Before this august I did not know
anything about Hadoop, NoSQL nor BigData, so it is something very new for
me.

About personal information, first tell that I never expected this offer. I
think about Apache Project's developers as outstanding
engineers/programmers and feel confused looking myself ;P I will try to
give my best. I am a 30 years old spaniard (although my surname). I like
much my job since I am learning much things, and in my spare time I do
housework (things don't get clean by themselves and takes time), a bit gym,
and sometimes I have time left to add things to my own server (
www.nishilua.com) and read IT books/articles/etc. At this time I am engaged
in an artistic project with Arduino too (another hobby). About java, I
programmed in java at the university (and C++0x) and a bit decompiling
Minecraft to mod the server, but nothing more. By now, only worked
professionally as web programmer in PHP and some months with Delphi XE2.

I enjoy much working in group and I am much grateful for the kindness found
in Gora. Furthermore, this is an exceptional opportunity for me to learn a
lot of things, so thank you too for that. If you find I make mistakes, let
me know hem; I will appreciate it.

My english is not much good, but fortunately www.wordreference.com allows
me to know some translations ;P. My grammar is really horrible. Just sorry!

If there is any curiosity question, I am open to them :)

Cheers,

Alfonso
