The Ganglia reporter was built to interact with older versions of Ganglia. In version 3.1, Ganglia change the format of the messages that they expect, so the existing reporter no longer works. It should be updated to work with the newer versions of Ganglia. It appears that DropWizard Metrics is capable of communicating with 3.1 and has apache-friendly licensing.
