Hello All

Hello Everybody,

My name is Angelique Killebrew. I'm a student at Jacksonville State
University. I am an English/ Political Science Major. I recently took a
technical writing course and became interested. I would like to get some
practical experience. I was given the suggestion to start here possibly. If
there is something a beginner like me contribute, I would be very happy to
do so.

Thanks,

Angelique

Angelique,

You might want to subscribe to the doc@openoffice.apache.org list where documentation is discussed. (Subscription requests go to doc-subscribe@openoffice.apache.org, sending from the email address you want to receive list messages at.)

There is also guidance for learning your way around Apache OpenOffice at <http://openoffice.apache.org/get-involved.html>.

Because you are interested in technical writing, it is necessary to have some domain knowledge of Apache OpenOffice. You should have a version of the software and be able to fact-check and verify behaviors in material that you might want to improve, extend, or add. The ability to make screen captures is important. You will also need to set up accounts on two wikis that the project operates.

The docs@ list is the best place to dig into all of this.

 - Dennis

Hi Angelique, please let us know whta kind of experience are you looking
for, do you want to learn how to use the software, or how to contribute to
its development or anything in particular that you want to engage with.

If you need a guide to use it, I suggest looking on our documentation
project:
