Relative performance of JIT/JVM combinations
For those of you who have been discussing the relative merits of the various JITs,
JVM versions, etc. in the context of Xerces 2 requirements gathering, there's an
updated performance comparison between many different JIT/JVM combinations at:
http://www.javalobby.com/features/jpr/
This study includes a look at some of the new Linux versions, and how they compare
to their Win32 counterparts. The study uses some standard and some non-standard
applications to compare performance, and to speculate at some possible reasons for
the differences.
