Dmitriy was getting whack responses from his shell... NoSuchMethodException, etc., and it turned out that it was a long running shell that had run over a cluster restart. We should at least fail if we've lost our zk session or reconnect.

This might no longer be an issue, which the client changes I have done over time. I will double check.
