[~gianluca] - have you taken a crack at this at all yet? With no shepherd we're at something of a disadvantage from a PoV on what JDK11 support in 4.0 should look like.
From a selfish dev perspective, I'm always amenable to supporting new JDK's for new language features that make life a little cleaner, and the sooner we have formal JDK11 support the sooner we can start discussing deprecating JDK8. Further, I think the surveying we did on the dev list / twitter / etc other informal channels indicated quite a few folks running JDK11.
