[jira] Commented: (CHUKWA-191) Remove my.cnf documentation and place my.cnf file in CHUKWA_HOME/opt

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CHUKWA-191?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12725884#action_12725884 ]

Ari Rabkin commented on CHUKWA-191:
-----------------------------------

Much better. Though at Berkeley, we were using a shared mysql, not installed specifically for Chukwa. It worked fine. So that part of the docs is maybe still misleading.

Why did we want to tell people to install a mysql just for chukwa?

> my.cnf is taking up too much space in the admin guide. It would be cleaner to reference this as a config file in the admin guide.
