    Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
      Assignee: Benjamin Bentmann

Martin I'm sorry but I don't get at all what you want to report here. I am pretty sure Maven 3 trunk is compiling as it's building fine on our CI system for quite some time: https://grid.sonatype.org/ci/job/maven-3.0.x/, https://grid.sonatype.org/ci/job/maven-3.0.x-bootstrap/.

Also, the generated source you posted doesn't match the actual output from a recent build, e.g. it's missing generics. So given your report is missing instructions on how to reproduce the problem, I guess you are either trying to build old SVN revisions or you build with local customizations.

bq. curious as to why this class was coded not to extend java.lang.Object?
Every class inherits from java.lang.Object.
