Tomcat will not shutdown
------------------------

                 Key: MRM-969
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MRM-969
             Project: Archiva
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: web application
    Affects Versions: 1.1.3
Environment: Debian GNU/Linux, Windows, Tomcat 6.0.18
            Reporter: Duncan Doyle

On both Debian GNU/Linux and Windows, I'm unable to shutdown Apache Tomcat when Archiva is installed. I have to kill the server process to get it to stop. When I execute the shutdown.sh or shutdown.bat scripts, the server starts it shutdown procedure, but hangs. The last line in the log is:

Sorry, posted the issue to fast. The last line in the log is:

INFO: Stopping Coyote HTTP/1.1 on http-8080

It seems like some Archiva background process is not being killed.

Denis Schettl commented on MRM-969:
-----------------------------------

It seems to be linked with MRM-724 (DB-Error because after stopping tomcat there is some stuff from archiva still running and when starting tomcat with archiva again the db is allready running what creates an error).
