[ANN] Seattle Washington USA Hadoop User Meeting

Hello Fellow Hadoopists,

We are meeting the 3rd Thursday of the month and covering predominately
only Hadoop and the infrastructure surrounding it.  

This *not* the same meeting as listed on meetup.com, NoSql/Scalability/Hadoop.

We are looking for people to present. So you would like to get the word out please
contact either myself or Chris Wilkes.

Seattle Hadoop Distributing Computing User Meeting

    Bringing Hadoopists Together On the 3rd
        Thursday of the Month

We are happy to announce our monthly meeting of
practitioners using Hadoop, HDFS and related
technologies. Please join us on May 20th for the 
inaugural meeting at the University Heights
Community Center.

The meetings focus predominately on distributed data
processing using a map reduce style. There will
be three talks of 20-25 minutes followed by group
discussion. The meetings will not go over 90 minutes.

The meetings are open to all and free of charge. 

When: Thursday May 20th, 7:15 prompt start - 8:45
Where: University Heights Community Center, Room 110

Outline for May 20th:
    
    Hadoop in Pictures: Sean Jensen-Grey presents
    a visual overview of MapReduce, the server 
    topology of Hadoop and the Hadoop Distributed
    File System (HDFS).

    Jeff Gardner will talk about his experience with
    large scale computing for scientific applications.

    Chris Wilkes gives an introduction to Pig (with
    examples), a high level language for writing
    map reduce programs.
