The {{pyarrow.filesystem}} interfaces are dubbed "legacy" (in favor of {{pyarrow.fs}}), but at some point we should actually deprecate (and eventually remove) them. 

There is probably still some work to do before that: ensure the new filesystems can be used instead in all places (eg in pyarrow.parquet), improve the docs about the new filesystems, ..
