Summary: "Build Monitor test plan" documentation enhancement
           Product: JMeter
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
               URL: http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/build-
                    monitor-test-plan.html
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: Main
        AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: nbekrar@jouve.fr

Very good documentation,I have only a very small enhancement to propose.

In this document i think you may say after adding a "thread group" that the user
must put the "loop count" value of the threadgroup to "forever", if it's not the
case it will not work because JMeter will send only one request to the status
servlet.

I need to update the document. the monitor listener will display results for
every 10 samples. so just 1 sample will not produce a graph.

Are you saying that only one request is sent, even if you set the loop count
to (say) 10?

maybe there's some confusion here. JMeter should send 10 requests. To see, add
view tree results. The monitor listener isn't well documented, so if there's
something you feel is unclear, please feel free to make suggestions.

the basic way monitor listener works is it aggregates 10 responses and updates
the graph. Rather than update the graphics every single request, I made it to do
it periodically. This was for performance reasons.

(In reply to comment #1)

No, if you put it to 10, 10 requests will be sent, but i said that only one
request is sent in the case where you use the default values of the threadgroup
( the default value of loop count is 1) and what i understood from the
documentation is that i use the threadgroup with the default values. I know
it's logical to put the number of requests to more than one to construct a graph
but i think we must give the maximum of guideness in the documentation in the
case where people who uses JMeter are not computer science specialists but only
test specialists and they can't deduce that.
