[jira] [Commented] (FOP-2988) Commercial license of jai-core and jai-codec libraries

Chris Bowditch commented on FOP-2988:
-------------------------------------

Why didn't you just ask your question on the mailing list or on the existing bug report? I will close this as duplicate. JAI is used to provide support for additional image types and without it you will not be able to use some images when generating PDF/PS/AFP from XSL-FO

> Hi all, our product uses the fop library to generate pdfs. And we have an issue with the commercial license of sun jai-core and jai-codec libraries. We cannot distribute them with our product.
> I found already the thread about the issue:
> We are going to exclude these libs from the maven dependency, but we are concerned about what kind of FOP functionality uses jai-core and jai-codec libraries? What issues could we face?
> Thanks, Olga.
