[PATCH] Make install for relative install paths
When you select relative installation paths (as in the
<Layout BinaryDistribution> model), "Make install" breaks because it doesn´t
adjust the relative to absolute paths on installation. That results in
bogus "mkdir /conf" (et al., like /libexec /proxy) statements being
executed, or (using "Make install root=/tmp") bogus attemps to install
files into /tmpsbin/apachectl or /tmpconf/magic et.al.
The attached patch tries to address these deficiencies by prepending
$(prefix)/ to all relative paths. There is therefore no more separation
between $(prefix) and $(exec_prefix): all relative paths are prefixed by
$(prefix). This solution fits the <Layout BinaryDistribution> just fine: it
only defines one prefix anyway.
Note that I didn't verify whether unsuccessful copies are ignored in the
right places (i.e., the separation between "@" and "-@" prefixed make rules)
.
Anyway: it works fine for me.
Martin
