   @juergbi It has been a long time since looking at this issue.
   
   Can you inform on whether this would still be an issue ?
   
   Are the files in CAS stored *as is* and the digest is *only* based on file content ? Or is it possible to have the same file `a` live concurrently in CAS with different digests (one with execution rights and one without) ?
