The [assemblies guide|http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-assemblies.html] is not update to date with maven-assembly-plugin (pre-defined descriptors)  and usage of the location for the assemblies which is defined in the https://maven.apache.org/guides/introduction/introduction-to-the-standard-directory-layout.html
