Using AxisCPP with wide characters

Hello.

Does anyone know what must be done to get AxisCPP to be compatible with
wide character sets / unicode?  I see that AxisChar is defined as a
regular "char"... The code generated by WSDL2Ws uses xsd__string, which
is a simple char array...

Is there any documentation out there that describes what it would take
to allow my customer's client scripts to send strings with wide chars?

I searched the mailing lists but couldn't find anything...
