"Synopsis" at https://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/latest/reference/cordova-cli/index.html#cordova-prepare-command doesn't include what `prepare` actually does:

> Copies files for specified platforms, or all platforms,
> so that the project is ready to build with each SDK.
