Yes, the HTML is probably correct and the old Konqueror version is buggy. My point is that Maven should generate HTML that is at least readable in every browser.

The problem is that for a certain portion of internet users, projects that use Maven rc3 really have a *very* unprofessional web site. Those users are effectively lost for the project, I can't tell them to update the browser. It's similar to the usual "IE only" sites", they target most of the market, but are unusable for the remaining part.

Note that Suse 9.0 is probably the most widespread Linux distribution here in Germany, so certainly many users are affected.

Description:
(not sure this is the right project, I just use Maven, don't know about which plugin is responsible for the final doc generation - feel free to move this issue to the correct JIRA project)

In KDE Konqueror 3.1.4 (default version in SuSe Linux 9.0 and probably other popular Linux distros) the external links are unreadable. The "external link" icon is repeatedly painted on top of the link's text, see attached screenshot.

AKAIK Apple's Safari browser uses the same HTML rendering engine as Konqueror, so Safari users might be affected as well. In Mozilla FireFox the links look fine, though.

This is a regression from rc-1 (where there was no "external link" icon).
