[jira] Created: (ARIES-164) Remove manual registerService() call
for javax.persistence.provider
Remove manual registerService() call for javax.persistence.provider
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: ARIES-164
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARIES-164
Project: Aries
Issue Type: Bug
Components: JPA
Affects Versions: Incubation
Reporter: Donald Woods
Assignee: Donald Woods
Fix For: Incubation
Currently, the jpa-container-itest code (and AriesTrade sample) is having to manually register OpenJPA as a javax.persistence.provider.
Once OPENJPA-1512 is integrated and in a nightly build, this code should be removed.

I'll push this into the JPA itests. I think that there is another change necessary in ariestrader. I'll look into it.

Joe Bohn commented on ARIES-164:
--------------------------------
I've run with the openjpa snapshot jar and I think the only change in ariestrader should be to remove the ariestrader-openjpa-provider module and update the equinox assembly to use the openjpa 2.0.0-snapshot rather than 2.0.0-beta.

Timothy Ward resolved ARIES-164.
--------------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
I have removed all the Aries code I could find that was registering the OpenJPA provider. Tests still pass, so everything looks good to me.
