I think the syntax is wrong. Try this instead:
install file:/g:/somewhere/bundlev1.jar

I tried install <drive>:/<map>/dist/<filename>.jar and the bundle is
accepted. Problem looks like solved.

felix-framework itself doesn't has the console to install bundle,
which installer you are using, org.apache.felix.shell?
It will be helpful if you can post your framework installed
bundle/verson and error stacktrace.
