Does Jackrabbit supports Metadata ?

Hello everyone,

Does Jackrabbit support Metadata ? Have any one experienced any problems
?

Jackrabbit is a complete JCR implementation. Does JCR 170 supports
metadata ?

I am not sure ...Could you please suggest me ? Your views are
appreciated
