Marmotta Website
Dear all,
as you might have realised, Sergio and I have spent considerable time the
last days in building up the Apache Marmotta website. You can see
development progress at:
http://marmotta.staging.apache.org
>From time to time, we push a working version also to our official website:
http://marmotta.incubator.apache.org
We are also incrementally pushing the Java API to the website:
http://marmotta.incubator.apache.org/apidocs/index.html
For the moment, due to a bug in the Maven reporting plugin (MSHARED-271),
we can only create a single Javadoc for the whole project. Once that bug is
fixed, we plan to structure it a bit more to make it less confusing for
users.
The biggest chunk of work is documenting the components and libraries. I
have started with the KiWi triple store and the Linked Data Client, but any
help and comments are welcome!
Greetings,
Sebastian

Yes - it's hardly a foolproof mechanism and my email addresses are on
over various specs so it is pointless really.
As the number of obfuscation styles is actually quite limited, limited,
any decent scraper probably has the necessary pattern matching!
Maybe all the links should be mailto:users@ :-)

Personally I stopped to use such mechanism many years ago, and I
completely switched to trust on my spam filter. But I find your request
quite understandable, and maybe others would prefer it too, so I
obfuscated the email addresses (r1450698) and should be find at the
staging site.

Great to see this!
It is conventional to not put up email addresses, either as mailto:
hrefs or text. While it does not stop the bots, not helping is the norm.
e.g
http://any23.apache.org/team-list.html

Hi,
in fact an effort that needs to be done for properly spread the project.
The content there is quite important. So, even you are not contributing
content directly, we'd really appreciate feedback on it whatever you
miss or is not clear at all, please comment it.
BTW, the team is listed on this page:
http://marmotta.incubator.apache.org/team-list.html
The maven site plugin uses gravatar.com to get an avatar based on your
apache email address. So please, register it there if you want to have a
proper avatar. This a feature that, for instance, Rupert has been
waiting eagerly ;-)
Cheers,

That was the idea. Good you like it :-)

Well, such information is also at the development section:
http://marmotta.incubator.apache.org/development.html
But I agree with you, so I'd try to find place to link it from the from
page.
Thanks!

Great job !! The website looks really good and it seems when the component
libraries are also document it would a really good knowledgeable organized
in the way that is easy to navigate and find stuff.
I really like the style too. Simple and nice.

One suggestion, most of the time users come to the website and they want to
find downloads or mailing list subscribe addresses, etc. It would be nice
if those quick links are directly available from the landing page without
having to traverse to Reports --> Project Information --> Mailing Lists.
