https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125683

Summary: Oo crashes when Writer starts
           Product: General
           Version: 4.1.1
          Hardware: Mac
                OS: Mac OSX, all
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P3
         Component: scripting
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: palubinski@fastmail.fm

Apple's automatic crash report

Oo 4.1.1
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5

Oo crashes when I try to start Writer from Startup screen ("Text Document"
option); or when I try to open a recent text document; or when I try to open a
text template from the File menu; or when I try to open a new document from the
File menu.

I have re-installed Oo - no good.

Perhaps coincidence, I tried to open a docx file from Oo, which I do all the
time, and it would not open. I then opened it with MS Word for Mac - but after
this I could not open any text documents with Oo without crashing the program.

I have attached the computer generated error report that is intended for Apple.

2014-09-28 17:00 GMT UPDATE: After unsuccessfully reloading Oo, I rolled
back
to 4.1.0 from 4.1.1 and I can now open odt & docx files. Might be a 4.1.1
issue.

Maybe a corrupted profile.
Did you reset it?

I removed and reinstalled 4.1.1 but it still crashes when I attempt to open a
new or existing test file. I am back on 4.1.0 again.

Sorry, but I am not sure what you mean by "Maybe a corrupted profile.
Did you reset it?". Which profile is this and how is it reset? I couldn't find
anything on this under Help.

Thank You.
