   I agree with @mcdan that having the application.conf specify the name/key of the configmap that contains the pod spec template is preferable to having the .conf contain the actual template as a string.  I can see this inline design might be more convenient  for standalone, but when deploying to a cluster it is more natural to provide the template in a configmap then having to override a string baked into the invoker docker image via an environment variable to the invoker pod.
