Tomcat <--> Apache protocol

Hi,

Currently we are developing a web application in C++, which talks to apache
server or other web servers. We would like to use Tomcat <-->
apache/webServer  protocol. Understand that tomcat 3.1 comes with connector
- jserv 1.2 for apache. From the nightly build, seems a new protocol
JK/Jserv 1.3 is being developed. Which one should we use? Any feedback would
be truly appreciated.
