JDK 1.1 and Images

       Is it possible to include images using jdk 1.1 ?

It seems that fop supports jdk 1.1 but I have a problem with this version
(no problem with 1.2) :
combo:~/Travaux/fop/examples> java org.apache.fop.apps.Fop fo/images.fo -pdf images.pdf 
FOP 0.18.1-DEV
using SAX parser org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser
building formatting object tree
setting up fonts
formatting FOs into areas
 [1Error while creating area : Error while recovering Image Informations (file:/graphics/xml_feather.gif) : /graphics/xml_feather.gif
Error while creating area : Error while recovering Image Informations (file:/graphics/xml_feather_transparent.gif) : /graphics/xml_feather_transparent.gif
Error while creating area : Error while recovering Image Informations (file:/graphics/fop.jpg) : /graphics/fop.jpg
Error while creating area : Error while recovering Image Informations (file:/graphics/linux.bmp) : /graphics/linux.bmp

 [2]
rendering areas to PDF
writing out PDF
