One more issue with RC2, was: Re: [Vote] Release Tuscany Java SCA 1.3 RC2

Hi,

I ran into one more issues with the binary distro on Linux:

1) "ant" build fails for demos/xml-bigbank (and other samples):

Buildfile: build.xml
/home/rfeng/tuscany/dist/tuscany-sca-1.3/demos/xml-bigbank/build-dependency.xml could not be found

BUILD FAILED
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/rfeng/tuscany/dist/tuscany-sca-1.3/demos/xml-bigbank/build-dependency.xml (No such file or directory)

It seems that the binary distro is produced without a full build first. As a result, the generated build-dependency.xmnl is missing.

Thanks,
Raymond

Cool thanks. And now its looking like the policy problem on the Axis2 binding is not in the 1.3 release so we should be good to go with a new RC. I wont have time to get that out for voting today, so will do it tomorrow morning GMT, but it would really really good if anyone with some time could review the RC2 artifacts and post feedback before then so we pick up anything before its a blocker in RC3.

Thanks!

This runs fine for me both before when the distribution was built and trying again now, both times with a clean repo with both Sun and IBM JDKs so i guess it must be some environment thing. I'm on WinXP what are you using? Did this work for you with RC1?

Please review and vote on the release artifacts for the Tuscany SCA for Java 1.3 release.

The artifacts are available for review at: http://people.apache.org/~antelder/tuscany/1.3-RC2/

This includes the signed binary and source distributions, Maven staging repository, and eclipse update site.

The SVN tag for the release is: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/tuscany/tags/java/sca/1.3

    Hi

What's the state of play here? I see there was a lot of activity on Friday after I signed off, e.g. [1]. It seems that people got the build working but the JIRA that was raised [2] is still outstanding?

I'm leaving the vote open for a bit in the hope of getting some more reviews comments.

The fix in trunk for T2498 has not yet been applied to the 1.3 branch though from [1] its probably ok to do that now. It wasn't clear if the problem building binding-ws-axis2 described in that other thread you reference happens in the 1.3 branch, i'd guess it probably does, and there is no fix yet in trunk for it.

Building the tag is just one part of the release so would be nice to get some more reviews before respining an RC3 in case there are other issues considered as blocking problems.
