Hive metadata lifecycle question

Hi,
I noticed that if a Hive object, like a view, is created several times, 
the different 'create view' hive_process objects exist in Atlas.
Where can I find information on the lifecycle management of Atlas objects?
How long do they remain? Which correspond to existing Hive obects and 
which don't? How should one delete old versions?
