Testing works in test:ui, but fails when doing site:generate

I have a project where I do maven test:ui and test each component in the
test suite.
All suceed and I have no failures and no errors.  When I try to do maven
site:generate or jar:install they fail because it says there are errors in
the test suite.  The log contains problems with the JDom node not found.

Why does it work in ui, but not the other way?

Difficult to say without more information - send the build log so we can have 
a look.
